Having a personality disorder can make it impossible for a person to function normally. In fact, it will be hard for these individuals to deal with day to day life because of their clouded perception of situations.
Personality disorders in general are crippling but as with other types of ailments, they have different symptoms. It is difficult to determine what personality disorder a person has when the symptoms have not yet manifested though that is why mental health professionals are usually consulted during the time when certain symptoms manifest.
